The Local Road Safety Action Plan is modeled after the New York State Strategic Highway Safety Plan (NY SHSP) and is an identified Proven Safety Countermeasure by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). The planning process analyzes crash statistics, identifies emphasis areas, and describes projects, programs and policies with the greatest potential to reduce fatal and serious injury crashes and reduce crash rates on local roads. CDTC is being assisted by VHB Engineering and River Street Planning and Development on the development of this plan.
The Draft Local Road Safety Plan is available along with materials from the Final Public Meeting on June 12, 2019. The final report is expected in early September 2019.
