May 1 through June 5

During the entire month of May, National Bike Month, and on through June 5 the Capital District Transportation Committee invites you to celebrate cycling as a fun and healthy way to travel. Join hundreds of your fellow Captial District residents by pledging to ride your bike.

Why Pledge?

  1. You're more likely to ride if you commit!
  2. Get some fresh air and get your body moving while social distancing! Riding a bicycle for work, errands or recreation is a practical and healthy option.  Let go of your cares and burn off that anxiety.
  3. Tag yourself on a ride with #518PledgetoRide on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram for a chance to win a CDTA bus pass, one-month membership of CDPHP Cycle! Bikeshare, or a one-year Cruise membership of Capital Carshare!

No Bike to Work Challenge This Spring

In light of the extensive workplace and school disruptions caused by the Coronavirus pandemic, the 2020 Bike to Work Challenge and Bike to School Challenge are postponed. Instead, this spring we are holding the Pledge to Ride campaign. Everyone in the Capital Region is asked to ride their bikes as much as they can between May 1 and June 5. We plan to reschedule both challenges for this September or October, depending on how the public health crisis develops.

T-shirts will not be offered for the Pledge to Ride.

Reminder: Always keep at least 6 feet of space between yourself and others, and wash your hands!
