CDTC to host public and collect comments on proposed transportation planning work in the Capital Region to be undertaken over the next year.
ALBANY, NY February 21, 2022 – The Capital District Transportation Committee (CDTC) invites the public to an Open House to discuss, ask questions, and submit comments about its 2023-2024 Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP). The Open House will be hosted at CDTC’s office, located at 1 Park Place, Albany, NY 12205, on Tuesday, February 28th from 4p-7p.
The UPWP is CDTC's annual work plan for the Capital Region, establishing staff and consultant assistance budgets for transportation planning activities to be undertaken between April 1, 2023 and March 31, 2024. Planning projects must advance the principles of CDTC's metropolitan transportation plan, New Visions 2050, and be consistent with planning factors in the federal Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. Federal funds in the UPWP are primarily made available through the Federal Highway Administration and the Federal Transit Administration.
The Open House will take place on the last day of the 25-day public review period for the UPWP. For those unable to attend the Open House or interested in submitting comments earlier, there are plenty of ways to do so at any time:

In addition to the UPWP, CDTC is also accepting comments on the Capital Region’s Bridge NY projects recommended for funding. The Bridge NY program provides funding for local government bridge and culvert repair and replacement projects in New York State. Local bridges are assigned federal funds through CDTC, and culverts are assigned state funds through NYSDOT. CDTC Executive Director Sandy Misiewicz said, “Our draft work plan contains Capital Region transportation planning projects and programs valued at over $5M in federal, state, and local funds. These initiatives will advance the implementation of our regional transportation plan and support local planning for a range of mobility options. In addition, the over $19M in bridge projects being recommended for funding will greatly assist local governments with maintaining our regional transportation system.”
