The City of Albany and the Capital District Transportation Committee (CDTC) will conduct a heavy vehicle truck survey on South Pearl Street in the City of Albany's South End from the end of April to the end of May using an innovative approach to determine where trucks are coming from and where they are heading. Instead of assigning people to record license plate numbers at several locations for 24 hours a day for 1-2 days, this survey will install and use automatic license plate readers (ALPRs) over a longer period of time to obtain the same data, in greater quantity with more reliability.
