CDTC’s Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP) identifies all transportation planning and programming
activities that are to be undertaken in the Capital District during the upcoming two years. For example,
the 2010-12 UPWP begins on April 1, 2010 and ends on March 31, 2012. The intent of the comprehensive
work plan is to coordinate all federally-funded transportation-related planning activities in the region.
The listing includes CDTC projects, as well as projects planned by member agencies including the
Capital District Transportation Authority, Capital District Regional Planning Commission, and the
New York State Department of Transportation. The UPWP is developed by the CDTC Policy Board
with its planning partners to reflect the Region’s short-range planning needs.
