Coordination Requirement of the Section 5310 Program

NYSDOT has released the information regarding the coordination requirement of the Section 5310 Program. The section 5310 program provides formula funding to States for the purpose of assisting private nonprofit groups in meeting the transportation needs of the elderly and disabled. In New York, funds are available for vehicles only, with a 20 percent match required.

Starting 2008, the Section 5310 projects must be consistent with the locally developed Coordinated Public Transit-Human Services Transportation Plan For The Capital District. To meet the requirement concerning participation in the locally developed coordinated public transit-human services transportation plan, please read the plan and send a letter to CDTC describing how your project is consistent with the plan. Also outline your current and planned coordination activities. If you provide trips to clients of organizations other than you own, please identify the clients and number of trips served.
