NY 5 BUS RAPID TRANSIT QUEUE JUMP LANE PROJECT
The Environmental Analysis Report for the Queue Jump Lane Project is available for review. The New York State Department of Transportation will hold a public hearing on the New Karner Road Queue Jump Lane on February 17, 2010 for 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Colonie Youth Bureau (1653 Central Avenue) in the Town of Colonie, NY. The New Karner Road Queue Jump Lane is one of several queue jumpers being designed for locations along the Route 5 Corridor where it would be advantageous for transit vehicles to bypass standing queues of automobiles at signalized intersections. The incorporation of these queue jump lanes will ensure reliable transit times, enhance passenger convenience and encourage increased ridership.
