Materials available on this website include the process used by CDTC to choose which projects to fund, lists of projects likely to be funded and a list of projects to be considered if there is an unspent balance.

  • NEW FREEDOM PROGRAM, April 16, 2009: The New Freedom Program Funding Application (PDF , MS Word) and Budget Spreadsheet are available. The New Freedom funding program was created to address the transportation needs of persons with disabilities. Applications are due on May 29, 2009. A workshop will be held on May 6th at 1:30 pm at CDTC’s offices to review the eligibility and reporting requirements of the New Freedom Program.

  • SPECIAL PLANNING COMMITTEE MEETING SCHEDULED FOR APRIL 29, 2009, April 1, 2009: There is an additional Planning Committee meeting scheduled for April 29, 2009 at 9:30AM. The purpose of the meeting is to continue the 2009-14 TIP Update.

  • SCHAGHTICOKE PARK AND RIDE SURVEY March 12, 2009: The Town and Village of Schaghticoke, CDTA and CDTC, are exploring the feasibility of a park and ride lot in of Schaghticoke as part of the Schaghticoke Route 40 Corridor Study. Residents throughout northern Rensselaer and southern Washington County are encouraged to participate. A survey form is available online or by request via email. The Survey will be closed on April 3rd.

  • ALBANY BIKE PLAN February 26, 2009: The City of Albany’s Bicycle Master Plan, funded through the Linkage Program, is underway. The first public meeting was help on February 25th at the Albany Public Library main branch. Display materials and a comment form are now available. Your input is important!

  • 2009-10 ADDENDUM TO THE 2008-2010 UNIFIED PLANNING WORK PROGRAM AVAILABLE FOR REVIEW February 18, 2009: At its February 4, 2009 meeting, CDTC's Planning Committee approved the draft 2009-10 Addendum to the 2008-2010 Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP) and its accompanying tables, which are now available for review. CDTC Policy Board action to approve the UPWP Addendum is scheduled for March 5, 2009. Comments to the draft should be e-mailed to UPWP08-10@cdtcmpo.org by March 4, 2009.

  • DRAFT 2009-14 TIP LISTINGS February 4, 2009: At its January 21, 2009 and February 4, 2009 meetings, the Planning Committee approved draft project funding and schedules for many existing TIP projects for the 2009-14 TIP Update. The Planning Committee is expected to act on the balance of the existing projects at its 2/18/09 meeting.

  • DRAFT LIST OF STIMULUS CANDIDATES RELEASED FOR PUBLIC REVIEW January 22, 2009: At its January 21, 2009 meeting, the Planning Committee released for public review, a draft list of candidate projects to be funded by the anticipated federal Economic Stimulus Package. Due to the anticipated timetable, the Planning Committee approved a 30-day public review period, which is consistent with other MPO areas around the nation. Comments can be made via email, telephone or mail.

  • SPECIAL PLANNING COMMITTEE MEETING SCHEDULED FOR FEBRUARY 18, 2009, January 22, 2009: There is an additional Planning Committee meeting scheduled for February 18, 2009 at 9:30AM.

  • SPECIAL PLANNING COMMITTEE MEETING SCHEDULED FOR JANUARY 21, 2009, January 19, 2009: There is an additional Planning Committee meeting scheduled for January 21, 2009 at 9:30AM to consider the possible Ecconomic Stimulus Package and the 2009-14 TIP Update. Materials are available on the Planning Committee page.

  • JANUARY 7, 2009 PLANNING COMMITTEE MEETING POSTPONED, January 6, 2009: The Planning Committee meeting scheduled for January 7, 2009 had been postponed due to weather and rescheduled for January 14, 2009 at 9:30AM.

  • SPOT IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM 2008, November 26, 2008: The Spot Improvement Program projects have been selected and have been added to the 2007-12 TIP. The new projects are A506, SA246, SA247, S190, S191 and S192. The funds came from RG41 , the Spot Improvement Setaside.

  • 2008 CERTIFICATION, November 26, 2008: The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) recently completed thier 2008 certification of CDTC.

  • ADDITIONAL PLANNING COMMITTEE MEETING, November 8, 2008: At its November 5, meeting, the Planning Committee scheduled an additional meeting for December 3, 2008 , at 9:30 AM at CDTC. The purpose of the meeting is to provide the opportunity for the committee to examine project data and additional funding estimate information for the 2009-14 TIP Update, should they become available.

  • SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL PROGRAM, October 14, 2008: The Safe Routes to Schools projects for the Capital District have been selected and are in the process of being approved by the Planning Committtee and Policy Board.

  • SECTION 5310 PROGRAM, April 29, 2008: NYSDOT has released the information regarding the coordination requirement of the Section 5310 Program which provides funding for the transportation needs of the elderly and disabled.

  • CDTC LAUNCHES NEWSLETTER, April 16, 2008: CDTC has launched a newsletter, In Motion , to provide readers with helpful information on transportation planning, technology, projects, and programs in the Capital District region. This publication is also available in print. In Motion will be published four times a year.

  • 2008-10 UNIFIED PLANNING WORK PROGRAM AVAILABLE FOR REVIEW, January 31, 2008: CDTC’s draft 2008-2010 Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP) is now available for review. CDTC Policy Board action to approve the UPWP is scheduled for its meeting of March 6, 2008. Comments to the draft should e-mailed to UPWP08-10@cdtcmpo.org by March 6, 2008.

  • REGIONAL TRAIL PERSPECTIVES, October 5, 2007: The Regional Trail Perspectives: A Survey of Capital District Trail Facilities is now complete. The document documents and compares trail user data and adjoining residential property owner data along the Mohawk Hudson Bike Hike Trail, the Uncle Sam Bikeway, and the Zim Smith Trail.

  • NEW VISIONS 2030, October 4, 2007:: At its October 4, 2007 meeting, the CDTC Policy Board approved the New Visions 2030 Regional Transportation Plan. Comments can be mailed to One Park Place, Albany, NY 12205, faxed to 518-459-2155 or emailed to CDTCComments2030@cdtcmpo.org.

  • DRAFT AIR QUALITY CONFORMITY ANALYSIS FOR THE NEW VISIONS 2030 REGIONAL TRANSPORTATION PLAN, October 2, 2007: The Revised Transportation Conformity Determination for the Albany-Schenectady-Troy ozone non-attainment is available for public review from October 2, 2007 to November 2, 2007.

  • ADOPTION of the 2007-12 TIP, July 12, 2007: The CDTC Policy Board formally adopted its 2007-12 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) on July 12, 2007.

  • PLANNING COMMITTEE AGENDAS, April 30, 2007: In order to meet new public participation standards, CDTC now includes agendas for Planning Committee meetings on this web site through the Planning Committee menu link to the left. Agendas are found with other materials for each meeting.

  • ROUTE 4 CORRIDOR STUDY (EAST GREENBUSH), January 12, 2007: Town Board of the Town of East Greenbush formally adopted CDTC's Route 4 Linkage Study on January 10, 2007.

  • FINAL REGIONAL GREENWAY CONCEPT PLAN, January 5, 2007: The Regional Greenway Concept Plan (23 MB) is now available. This plan was framed around the work of Working Group C and the “Big Ticket, Big Idea Initiatives” concepts that have been developed as part of New Visions 2030. The concept plan shows a potential regional network of greenways and trails that will provide residents, visitors, businesses, and communities with transportation, recreation, health, and quality of life benefits.

  • LUTHER FOREST TECHNOLOGY CAMPUS TRANSPORTATION PLAN, September 13, 2006: On September 7, CDTC’s Policy Board amended its New Visions plan and its regional air quality conformity determination to reflect roadway improvements contained in the Luther Forest plan. The Round Lake Bypass, as well as other roadway improvements for the Luther Forest Plan, were incorporated into the revised revised Transportation Conformity Determination for the Albany-Schenectady-Troy ozone non-attainment area.

  • COLLOQUY REPORT AVAILABLE, June 16, 2006: The CDTC staff has been heavily engaged in a national effort, the “Colloquy on the Coming Transformation of Travel” funded by the NYS MPO Association and FHWA’s research office. Products of the Colloquy are available for review, and the final report is now available.

  • 2006 REGIONAL BIKE MAP, June 6, 2006: CDTC’s 2006 Regional Bike Map is now available.

  • I-87 MULTI-MODAL CORRIDOR STUDY, April 18, 2006: The New York State Department of Transportation has issued a press release regarding its I-87 study final report, calling for development of a “Smart Corridor” between Albany and the Canadian border.

  • INTERESTING PRACTICES AT CDTC, August 4, 2005: CDTC is often asked for documentation of its innovative practices. A listing of CDTC’s Innovations in Sustainability is available. One-page descriptions of many of these are in Interesting MPO Practices at CDTC.
