1.0   New Business

 

SUNY Albany Graduate Planning StudioBrigidann Rauch from the U Albany Planning Studio presented the classes draft plan for the Central Albany Bikeway Plan.  The Plan includes recommendations for better cycling and walking from the Albany Nano Campus, through SUNY and Harriman and down to the Hudson River.  They focused on non-major routes as the desired route.

 

European Approaches to Bike/Ped Planning -- Sandy Misiewicz of the CDTC staff presented on many of the bicycle and pedestrian facilities, programs, and attitudes that she experienced as part of her recent trip to England and the Netherlands.  Contact Sandy at 458-2161 for more information

 

           

1.8 Other New Business

            1.8.1 M. Gagne, shared articles on the progress of the Geyser Road Trail.  It was indicated that an RFP had been issued, and a firm selected (Greenman Pederson) for planning and design through funds provided by Assemblyman Tedisco.

 

            1.8.2 J. Gritsavage stated that the Lark St. BID is working with their insurance company to be able to continue to remove snow along the sidewalks in their area.

 

            1.8.3 Any ideas or suggestions for new agenda items should be forwarded to J. Purvis (BikePed@cdtcmpo.org).

 

            1.8.4  The February 2009 meeting has been changed to February 3rd @ 4:30pm

The next CDTC Bicycle and Pedestrian Task Force meeting is scheduled for January 13, 2009 @ 4:30 PM.
