  • SCHAGHTICOKE PARK AND RIDE SURVEY March 12, 2009: The Town and Village of Schaghticoke, CDTA and CDTC, are exploring the feasibility of a park and ride lot in of Schaghticoke as part of the Schaghticoke Route 40 Corridor Study. Residents throughout northern Rensselaer and southern Washington County are encouraged to participate. A survey form is available online or by request via email. The Survey will be closed on April 3rd.

  • 2009-10 ADDENDUM TO THE 2008-2010 UNIFIED PLANNING WORK PROGRAM AVAILABLE FOR REVIEW February 18, 2009: At its February 4, 2009 meeting, CDTC's Planning Committee approved the draft 2009-10 Addendum to the 2008-2010 Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP) and its accompanying tables, which are now available for review. CDTC Policy Board action to approve the UPWP Addendum is scheduled for March 5, 2009. Comments to the draft should be e-mailed to UPWP08-10@cdtcmpo.org by March 4, 2009.

  • DRAFT 2009-14 TIP LISTINGS February 4, 2009: At its January 21, 2009 and February 4, 2009 meetings, the Planning Committee approved draft project funding and schedules for many existing TIP projects for the 2009-14 TIP Update. The Planning Committee is expected to act on the balance of the existing projects at its 2/18/09 meeting.

  • 2008-10 UNIFIED PLANNING WORK PROGRAM AVAILABLE FOR REVIEW, January 31, 2008: CDTC’s draft 2008-2010 Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP) is now available for review. CDTC Policy Board action to approve the UPWP is scheduled for its meeting of March 6, 2008. Comments to the draft should e-mailed to UPWP08-10@cdtcmpo.org by March 6, 2008.

  • SPOT IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM SOLICITATIONS, October 16, 2008: The review process for the Spot Improvement Program applications took longer than anticipated. Planning Committee will act on recommendations from the review committee at its November 5th meeting instead of in October as stated in the solicitation material.

  • SEPTEMBER 9, 2008 PLANNING COMMITTEE MEETING CANCELLED, September 8, 2008: In anticipation of needing a special meeting for the 2009-14 TIP update, the Planning Committee had scheduled a meeting tentatively for September 9, 2008. This meeting has been cancelled.

  • AUGUST 20, 2008 PLANNING COMMITTEE MEETING CANCELLED, August 15, 2008: In anticipation of needing a special meeting for the 2009-14 TIP update, the Planning Committee had scheduled a meeting tentatively for August 20, 2008. This meeting has been cancelled. More information is available on the Planning Committee page. The Planning Committee is asked to pencil in September 9, 2008 as a tentative replacement date for this meeting.

  • SPOT IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM SOLICITATIONS, June 24, 2008: CDTC is now soliciting for the next round of the Spot Improvement Program. The Bicycle and Pedestrian Spot Improvement Program is the mechanism for funding small-scale capital projects which will improve the region's bicycle and pedestrian travel environments. Three copies of the application are due by 5:00pm on August 29, 2008, Attn: Jason Purvis.

  • SOLICITATION FOR NEW PROJECTS, February 19, 2008: CDTC began its solicitation for projects related to its 2007-12 TIP. The funding is from various federal programs, which results in several different project applications and eligible project types. Eligible types of projects are ITS for Local Traffic Signals, Alternative Fuel Retrofit, Bicycle/Pedestrian, Intersections/Queue Jumpers/Roundabouts, Safety for Non-State Roads, and New Freedoms.

  • DIESEL RETROFIT PROGRAM, February 15, 2008: CDTC’s Diesel Retrofit Application is available. The Capital District Transportation Committee (CDTC) has programmed $500,000 in Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) funds to implement a diesel retrofit program. This program has been created to improve air quality in the Capital District by reducing emissions of nitrogen oxide (NOx), VOC’s (HC) and particulate matter (PM) from high-emitting internal combustion engines. Applications are due on April 4, 2008.

  • NEW FREEDOM PROGRAM, January 28, 2008: The New Freedom Program Funding Application is available. The New Freedom funding program was created to encourage services and facility improvements to address the transportation needs of persons with disabilities that go beyond those required by the Americans with Disabilities Act. Applicants may include private non-profit organizations, state or local governmental authorities or operators of public transportation services including private operators of public transportation services. Applications are due on March 24, 2008.

  • SECTION 5310 PROGRAM, November 23 2007: NYSDOT has released the information regarding the coordination requirement of the Section 5310 Program which provides funding for the transportation needs of the elderly and disabled. The FFY 2008 grant application will be available in late January 2008.

  • SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL PROGRAM, November 16, 2007: NYSDOT has released the materials for the Safe Routes to School Program. The goal of the program is to assist communities in developing and implementing projects and programs that encourage walking and bicycling to school while enhancing the safety of these trips. Safe Routes to School funds are 100% reimbursable with no local match required. CDTC and Region 1 will work together on reviewing the applications and make recommendations for funding. Applications are due by April 1, 2008 and should be sent to NYSDOT Region 1.

  • COMMUNITY AND TRANSPORTATION LINKAGE PLANNING PROGRAM FOR 2008-09, July 19, 2007: CDTC is now accepting submissions for its 2008-09 Linkage Planning Program. Detailed program solicitation material including application instructions is now available. The submission deadline is the close of business on September 28, 2007.

  • DRAFT NEW VISIONS 2030, June 13, 2007: At its June 7, 2007 meeting, the CDTC Policy Board released the draft New Visions 2030 materials for public review. Comments can be mailed to One Park Place, Albany, NY 12205, faxed to 518-459-2155 or emailed to CDTCComments2030@cdtcmpo.org.

  • DRAFT 2007-12 TIP SUMMARY, April 6, 2007: The Draft 2007-12 Transportation Improvement Program Summary has been released for public review. Comments should be made by June 1, 2007 for possible inclusion in the 2007-12 TIP.

  • NEW VISIONS 2030, April 4, 2007: At its April 4, 2007 meeting the CDTC Planning Committee approved the release of its draft Public Participation Policy, for public comment. Comments should reach CDTC by Friday May 25, 2007. Comments can be mailed to CDTC One Park Place, Albany, NY 12205, faxed to 518-459-2155 or emailed to CDTCComments2030@cdtcmpo.org. The draft document is also available at several local libraries.

  • NEW VISIONS 2030, March 23, 2007: CDTC staff is working towards updating New Visions and taking the steps necessary for CDTC to become compliant with SAFETEA-LU. At its April 4, 2007 meeting the Planning Committee will be asked for its consideration on the following DRAFT materials: 1) the new draft Public Participation Plan, 2) the draft freight portion of New Visions, and 3) the draft bicycle and pedestrian portion of New Visions.

  • 2007-08 ADDENDUM TO THE 2006-08 UPWP, March 16, 2007: The CDTC Policy Board approved the 2007-08 Addendum to the 2007-08 UPWP at its March 8, 2007 meeting.

  • CDTC POLICY BOARD APPROVES DRAFT TIP, March 8, 2007: The CDTC Policy Board approved the Draft 2007-12 Transportation Improvement Program at its March 8, 2007 meeting, pending Planning Committee action regarding the Batchellerville Bridge project (SA104) at its April 4, 2007 meeting. Therefore, the public review period will begin on April 5, 2007.

  • DRAFT 2007-12 TIP, February 23, 2007: At its February 21, 2007 meeting the CDTC Planning Committee recommended approval of the draft 2007-12 TIP, to the Policy Board for consideration at its next meeting.

  • CONGESTION MITIGATION/AIR QUALITY, December 11, 2006: On December 7, 2006, the CDTC Policy Board approved release of a draft CMAQ Programming Discussion. The purpose of the discussion is to determine the appropriate programming balance for CMAQ projects before programming CMAQ funds in the 2007-12 TIP Update.

  • TRANSPORTATION ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM, November 30, 2006: The Statewide Transportation Enhancement Advisory Committee approved Transportation Enhancement Program projects in the Capital District for funding.

  • SPOT IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS, November 30, 2006: At its November 1, 2006 meeting, the Planning Committee approved Spot Improvement projects for funding.

  • TRANSPORTATION ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM, September 13, 2006: At its September 7 meeting, the Policy Board approved the prioritized list of projects to send to the Transportation Enhancements Advisory Committee (TEAC).

  • 2007-08 LINKAGE PROGRAM SOLICITATION ANNOUNCED, September 1, 2006: CDTC is pleased to announce the availability of community planning assistance through its award winning Community and Transportation Linkage Planning Program for 2007-08 (April 2007 – March 2008). The solicitation deadline is the close of business on October 6, 2006. See the 2007-08 Program Guidelines for more information on the program and how to apply.

  • TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM, August 30, 2006: At its August 2006 meeting, the Planning Committee approved a schedule for the 2007-12 TIP Update.

  • LUTHER FOREST TECHNOLOGY CAMPUS TRANSPORTATION PLAN, July 13, 2006: CDTC’s Planning Committee took action on July 5 to recommend amending CDTC’s New Visions plan and its regional air quality conformity determination to reflect roadway improvements contained in the Luther Forest plan. These include intersection improvements, internal campus roadways, paving and upgrading Cold Springs Rd., and construction of the Round Lake Bypass. CDTC Policy Board action will be considered on September 7.

  • REGIONAL GREENWAY VISIONING WORKSHOP, July 13, 2006: CDTC hosted a Regional Greenway Visioning Workshop on Tuesday June 20th at The Crossings of Colonie. Nearly 50 people participating in the workshop, which is part of CDTC’s New Visions 2030 effort.

  • TRANSPORTATION ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM APPLICATIONS, July 13, 2006: The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) is currently reviewing applications for the Transportation Enhancement Program (TEP). After the applications are screened for eligibility, they will be forwarded to CDTC for evaluation. CDTC’s evaluation criteria are slightly different from that in the TEP Guidebook. CDTC will be responsible for forwarding a prioritized list of projects to the statewide review committee by early September.

  • REGIONAL GREENWAY VISIONING WORKSHOP, May 18, 2006: CDTC will be hosting a Regional Greenway Visioning Workshop on Tuesday June 20th at The Crossings of Colonie from 1-5pm and 5-7pm. This Workshop is a result of extensive work done in the preparation of CDTC’s updated long-range plan, New Visions 2030 that included the formation of Working Group C which addressed “Big Ticket and Big Idea Initiatives”.

  • TRANSPORTATION ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM APPLICATIONS, May 4, 2006: The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) is currently accepting applications for the Transportation Enhancement Program (TEP). After the applications are received by NYSDOT and screened for eligibility, they will be forwarded to CDTC for evaluation. CDTC’s evaluation criteria are slightly different from that in the TEP Guidebook. CDTC will be responsible for forwarding a prioritized list of projects to the statewide review committee.

  • MAJOR TIP AMENDMENTS, April 21, 2006: CDTA is proposing amendments to the TIP that represent a major shift in programming policy. These changes are in various stages in the approval process. The magnitude of the changes are on par with a TIP update. Therefore, CDTC is voluntarily providing a public comment period as it would during a TIP update.

  • TRAIL USER AND ADJOINING RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY OWNER SURVEY PROJECT, March 29, 2006: CDTC is now accepting proposals for the 2006 Trail User and Adjoining Residential Property Owner Survey . The due date is Thursday April 27th.

  • REVISED TRANSPORTATION CONFORMITY DETERMINATION, March 10, 2006: The Revised Transportation Conformity Determination for the Albany-Schenectady-Troy ozone non-attainment area is available for public review and comment from March 13 to March 28, 2006. The revision is required because of the Adirondack Glens Falls Transportation Council Long Range Plan Amendment for 2025.

  • 2006-08 UNIFIED PLANNING WORK PROGRAM, February 21, 2006: CDTC approved a two-year Unified Planning Work Program for the period April 1, 2006 through March 31, 2008. The program includes a commitment to nine new Linkage studies in the first year.

  • COLLOQUY PRODUCTS AVAILABLE, October 5, 2005: The CDTC staff has been heavily engaged in a national effort, the “Colloquy on the Coming Transformation of Travel” funded by the NYS MPO Association and FHWA’s research office. Products of the Colloquy are now available for review.

  • NEW VISIONS 2030, July 7, 2005: CDTC continues its work on a major update called New Visions 2030. Working materials are available for review.
